Why the NT
All postcodes in the Northern Territory are in Northern Australia, so farm work, construction and tourism and hospitality all count toward specified work for both 417 and 462 visas.
That makes Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs and the outback roadhouses popular for knocking over your days while doing a job you might actually enjoy.
Jobs in the NTSeasons
The dry season (roughly May–October) is peak tourist season and when most hospitality jobs are going. The wet (November–April) brings heat, storms and closed roads, but mango season starts around September–November.
Must-dos
- Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks.
- Mindil Beach Sunset Market (dry season).
- Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk).
- Uluṟu and Kings Canyon from Alice Springs.
Stay safe
Crocodiles live in rivers, billabongs and the sea across the Top End. Only swim where signs say it’s safe. Carry far more water than you think you need on outback roads.
